2021 Cuvee Natalie Pinot Noir

Notes

Ruby red-purple. Vaulted perfumes of soft red rose petal, wild red and blackberries and pomegranate, with hints of tea leavesand iron filings. Full to medium bodied, poised in its posture. Gracefully multilayered and complex. Silken on the palate and finely weighted. Threaded with fine-grained tannins and a long, lingering finish. There’s a lot going on in the 2021 Cuvee Natalie, likely one of our finest offerings from this site since its inception. Delicious.

Extremely aromatic and flavorful with blue fruits, tar and roses with some pumice. Iron shavings. Ripe forest floor. Strawberries, too. Full, linear and very tight with focused and polished tannins that have excellent length and precision. Needs three or four years to open. Try after 2025.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Silver Belt Vineyard Cuvee Natalie is pale to medium ruby-purple in color. It needs a little coaxing to bring out delicate notes of fallen leaves, garrigue, and damp soil, leading to a core of raspberry leaves, wild strawberries, and pomegranate. The medium to full-bodied palate is super-savory, with a firm backbone of lively acidity and grainy tannins, finishing long with the perfume coming through just at the end. It should be very long-lived!

The 2021 Pinot Noir Silver Belt Vineyard Cuvée Natalie is stellar. Rich and explosive, the 2021 is bursting with inky red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, game, tobacco, and incense. The purity of the flavors is just remarkable. There's so much textural depth and textural richness here. My impression is that the best is yet to come.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Cuvée Natalie Silver Belt Vineyard has fragrant scents of red cherries, pomegranate and raspberries with nuances of forest floor, woodsmoke and charcuterie. The medium-bodied palate features alluringly crunchy, earth-laced fruit supported by velvety tannins, vibrant acidity to balance its density of fruit and a long, layered, spicy finish. This irresistible Pinot Noir will certainly age, but there's no reason to wait!
